Wanaka has its own dentists and for everyday care they're the sensible choice. We're about an hour away over the Crown Range, and people come to us for particular reasons.
What brings Wanaka patients over
Nobody drives an hour for a scale and polish, and we wouldn't suggest it. The trip makes sense when what you need isn't available closer, or when you'd rather stay with a dentist you already trust.
- IV and oral sedation for people who find dental treatment genuinely difficult
- Dental implants, from assessment through to the final crown
- Veneers, digital smile design and other cosmetic work
- Complex restorative treatment across several teeth
- Continuity - patients who moved to Wanaka and kept coming back
The Crown Range in winter
The direct route over the Crown Range is the quickest but it's an alpine road, and in winter it can need chains or close altogether. The route through Cromwell takes longer but is more reliable.
We'd rather you rescheduled than drove something you're not comfortable with. Ring us and we'll move the appointment - no charge for a weather cancellation.
Fewer, longer appointments
Where treatment allows it, we'll group the work so you're making the trip as few times as possible. Mention the drive when you book so we can plan for it.
