Cosmetic dentistry in Queenstown

Cosmetic dentistry covers everything from a single chipped front tooth to rebuilding a whole smile. Most people want something smaller and simpler than they expect.

What is actually available

The right treatment depends on what is bothering you. Discolouration, a chip, a gap and a worn-down bite are four different problems with four different answers, and the cheapest one that solves it is usually the right one.

  • Teeth whitening - for teeth that are healthy but discoloured
  • Composite bonding - tooth-coloured material shaped onto a chip or gap in a single visit
  • Porcelain veneers - thin facings that change shape, colour and alignment together
  • Crowns - full coverage for a tooth that is broken down or heavily filled
  • Implants and bridges - replacing a tooth that is missing
  • Dentures - replacing several teeth or a full arch

Health first, appearance second

Cosmetic work sits on top of healthy teeth and gums. If there is decay or gum disease underneath, that gets dealt with first - otherwise you are decorating a problem rather than fixing one.

We will also tell you when the honest answer is to do less. Not every gap needs closing and not every tooth needs a veneer.

Seeing it before you commit

For bigger changes we use digital smile design to show you the proposed result before any treatment starts, so you are agreeing to something you have actually seen rather than a description.

Cosmetic Dentistry - common questions

Where do I start?
With a consultation. Tell us what you would change, and we will go through what is possible, what each option involves and what it costs. Nothing gets booked on the spot.
Will it look obvious?
Done well, no. The aim is teeth that look like yours on a good day, not a uniform white block. Shade and shape are matched to your face and to the teeth beside them.
How long does cosmetic work last?
It depends on the treatment and on you. Bonding may need refreshing after a few years; porcelain veneers and crowns typically last considerably longer. Grinding your teeth, smoking and skipping check-ups all shorten the life of any of it.
